Specimen data for Sulfur
Tom Mortimer catalog number: U533
Identification method: Jim Nizamoff, during his years at the University of New Orleans, confirmed these tiny, rounded, crystals were native sulfur by SEM EDS analysis. These were found in a zone of weathering sulfides. -- Bob Janules, personal communication.
Notes: The Europeans and Brits prefer the "Sulphur" spelling.
Gunnar Bjareby reported finding "small crystals" sulfur at the Palermo Mine in the Jan/Feb 1961 issue of Rocks and Minerals (Vol 36 Nos. 1 & 2, pg. 35).
